Mansa Devi Temple :-





Mansa Devi Temple is one of the most famous Hindu temples dedicated to Goddess

Mansa Devi, and one of the major holy places to visit in Haridwar. The Goddess is considered

to be a form of Shakti and is believed to have originated from the mind of Lord Shiva.

The temple is also one of the five pilgrimages in 'Panch Tirth' or Haridwar and is situated

atop the Bilva mountain on the Shivalik hills. It is said that if you pray with sincerity and devotion,

the presiding deity fulfills all your wishes. Devotees can be seen offering coconuts, flowers and

even jewelry to please the goddess. You can reach the summit of the temple through the

ropeway, from which the panoramic view is visible.

One of the most attractive shrines in Haridwar, Chandi Devi Temple, situated on the Neel Parvat

of the Shivalik Hills, was built in the year 1929 by the then King of Kashmir, and is believed to

have an idol of the Goddess inside the temple. Was established in the early 8th century.

It is one of the most famous pilgrimages and attracts devotees throughout the year.

This place is also known as Siddha Peetha, where devotees worship to fulfill their wishes.

The ropeway cable car leading to the temple is another feature that enhances the grandeur

of the temple and offers a terrestrial view of the hilly terrain. But to make the most of your

historical experience, it is advisable to make your way upward through lush greenery

and divine aura.

Maya Devi Temple :-





Built in the 11th century, the Maya Devi temple is believed to be one of the important holy

places to visit in Haridwar. The temple is one of the three Shakti Peethas located in the holy

city of Haridwar, and is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Maya, who is considered to be a

form of Adi Shakti or Absolute Power. In ancient times, Haridwar was also called Mayapuri

in the worship of this deity. The temple has 3 heads, 4 arms, and is one of the Siddha Peeth

temples located in the city. Along with the presiding deity, the temple has idols of Goddess

Kamakhya and Goddess Kali, which are also a form of Adi Parashakti.


Legend has it that Sati, who was the divine concert of Lord Shiva, married her against her

father's will. Once Sati's father Daksha Prajapati decided to perform a yajna and invited all

the gods except Lord Shiva. Despite being aware of this fact, Sati arrives at her ancestral

home and asks her father to invite her husband. However, Daksha insulted his daughter and

Lord Shiva. Unable to bear the defamation of her husband, Sati committed suicide in the fire

of Yagya. When Lord Shiva heard about the sacrifice of Sati, he ordered Veerabhadra and

Khali to destroy the yajna and kill Daksha. Soaked in rage, he traveled the whole world, carrying

the burnt corpse of his wife, moaning and dancing to the tune of the Tandava.

To save the universe from Shiva's wrath, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra and

cut Sati's body into pieces. According to Hindu mythology, these broken pieces fell at 52

different places in the Indian subcontinent, which came to be known as Shakti Peetha.


The Goddess Maya Devi Temple has been established where the navel of the heart of Sati

fell and is therefore considered one of the most revered Shakti Peethas of all.


Har ki Pauri :-




Considered as one of the most sacred ghats in Haridwar and all over India, Har ki Pauri

is an iconic site and a large number of devotees and visitors are visited for the blessings of the

holy Ganges. It is believed that a person's sins are washed away by taking a dip in the

magical waters of the Ganges and according to Indian mythology, 'Brahmakund', where the

evening and morning aarti takes place, is said to be one of the four places where Drops of The

nectar was accidentally spilled by the celestial bird Garuda. In the evening, the river rises in

the golden color of countless lamps and lights the candles offered by the devotees and is

worth seeing.


Har Ki Pauri is also famous for the place where the Ganges River flowing from the Himalayas

touches the plains for the first time, experiencing peace and bliss. The sound of the gong

along with the sages chanting and meditation mantras and prayers experiences spiritual

vibrancy and provides a spiritual retreat to be nourished.

Daksha Mahadev Temple :-




A famous temple in Kankhal, Haridwar Daksha Mahadev Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva

and is flocked by devotees in the auspicious month of Sawan in August. The temple is named

after Sati's father King Daksha Prajapati, who was the first wife of Lord Shiva. Daksha is one

of the 14 Prajapatis, the creator deities, who preside over fertility and the protector of life in

Hindu mythology. In fact, the temple is one of the top five holy places in Haridwar, and is

adjacent to the famous Das Mahavidya Temple, which is dedicated to the Mahavidyas.
