Kedarnath Temple


Kedarnath Temple is a Hindu temple (shrine) dedicated to Lord Shiva. Kedarnath is located in the state of Uttarakhand, Garhwal Himalayan range near the Mandakini river India. Due to extreme weather conditions, the temple is open to the general public only between the months of April and November. Kedarnath temples are carried down to Ukhimath and where the deity is worshiped for the next six months. Kedarnath is seen as a homogenous form of Lord Shiva, the 'Lord of Kedar Khand, the historical name of the region.

The temple is not directly accessible by road and has to be reached by a 16 kilometres uphill trek from Gaurikund. Pony  and porter Service is available to reach the Temple. This temple is 11,755 ft, 223 km from Rishikesh.




Tungnath Temple, Rudraprayag


Tungnath is the highest Shiva temple in th Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand at an altitude of 12,073 ft, and just below the peak of Chandrashila, the temple is believed to be 1000 years old and is the third in the pecking order of the Panch Kedars. It has a rich legend linked to the Pandavas, heroes of the Mahabharata epic. It is the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples located in the mountain range of Tunganath in Rudraprayag district, in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. During winters, the temple is closed due to snow and Lord Shiva deity is shifted to Mukunath Village. The main temple complex consists of two small temples. These temples are devoted to Goddess Parvati and Vyas.







Bilkeshwar Mahadev Temple Haridwar 




This temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and his Consort Goddess Parvati. According to mythology, the temple is the place where Goddess Parvati worshiped Shiva, and when Shiva appeared she asked him to accept her as his wife. Bilva is a tree which is quite sacred to Hindus. Its leaves represent the three eyes of Lord Shiva.


This ancient temple is very popular among the local people. The temple is surrounded by woods in a hilly area. It is a small temple which houses a Shiva linga and Nandi made out of stone. The place also houses small temples for Lord Ganesh, Lord Hanuman and Goddess Parvati. It is a tradition to offer Bilva leaves to Lord Shiva and to do abhishek of the Shiva lingam with the water of River Ganga. 
The temple is very close to Haridwar Jn Railway Station and can be reached by foot..


Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Rishikesh


Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is a Hindu Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located near Rishikesh City in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India. The temple is situated at a height of 1675 meters, on a hill above Swarg Ashram. It stands adjacent to the mountain ranges of Nar-Narayan. The 12 Km stretch from Swarg Ashram to Neelkanth is also an ideal place for trekkers. 


The temple observes two fairs that are held annually on the occasions of Maha Shivrathri and Shivratri of Shraavana during which the devotees trek from Haridwar to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple.
